SourceAbled is seeking candidates for a Contract Role role as a Senior Associate Scientist - Molecular biology / Automation with our client Pfizer, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. Seeking candidates in Bothell,WA US or willing to relocate.
Responsible for general laboratory and operational support. Including providing logistical support for samples and compounds management, ordering supplies and carrying out general bench work activities.
What You Will Achieve
As a Senior Associate Scientist, you will be at the center of our operations and you’ll find that everything we do, every day, is in line with an unwavering commitment to quality. You will be part of Our Worldwide Research and Development team that employs a multidisciplinary approach to identify and target cancer cell cycle for developing the next generation Oncology therapeutics and therapeutic combinations.
You will contribute to early discovery and protein engineering for the development of novel biotherapeutics. You will be responsible for extensive molecular biology, tissue culture and cell biology benchworks, including vector engineering, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), cloning, cell line engineering and cell-based assay development. You will also contribute to protein/antibody expression and purification, biophysical characterizations and target validation.
With your deep knowledge in the discipline, you will be an active team member who influences at the project team level. You will be using your scientific judgment to adapt standard methods and techniques by applying prior work experience and consulting others. Your ability to plan will help in preparing short-term work activities on projects. Your creativity in developing novel processes and new ideas will be used frequently.

How You Will Achieve It
- Contribute to achievement of goals and influence at the project team level.
- Carry out experiments including phage display, vector design, antibody production, and cytotoxic activity, to advance projects in our pipeline.
- Evaluate data and provide clear reports that can be shared and transferred to and from cross-functional teams.
- Pay attention to detail, strictly adhere to safety protocols, and use knowledge of basic laboratory procedures to advance projects under rapidly shifting priorities and timelines.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Bachelor's Degree
- 6+ years of experience
- Substantial experience with standard molecular biology skills and large-scale experiments. Experience with automation preferred
- Experience implementing and executing novel drug combination strategies
- Strong interest in computational biology and bioinformatics
- Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with other scientists and computational biologists, both within the group and in other groups
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Nice-to-Have
- Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience
- Experience working with antibodies and alternative antibody formats (e.g. bispecific)
- Experience working with Hamilton and/or Tecan instruments
- Past ADC experience including conjugation and evaluation of ADC activity
- Understanding of display technologies such as phage or yeast display
- Track record of successful contribution to research projects, preferably utilizing gene editing or screening methodologies
