ATTENTION: SourceAbled is seeking candidates for an upcoming contract opportunity as a BC Operator with one of the world’s largest Pharmaceutical & Medical Technology companies the country in San Angelo, TX. 

JOB SUMMARY*

  • Under in-direct supervision associates are responsible for processing sterile suture products through the BC/SAB equipment as per process specifications. Focusing on ensuring maximum efficiency from machine, ensuring maximum machine utilization, and minimum departmental nonproductive time.  Daily, weekly, and/or monthly reporting of all department operations.
  • Associates are also responsible for the loading and unloading suture products from Non-CFC sterilization.
  • Associates are responsible for performing a variety of assignments in accordance to prescribed procedures and specifications relating to the process or equipment.
  • Perform adjustments and tooling changes as needed. Comply with packaging requirements ensuring packaging of product-by-product type and verification of documentation. Transfer packaged products to the In Test and/or Hot Room (if applicable). Complete required documentation. Comply with safety regulations and procedures. Maintain a clean and well-organized work area to enhance efficiency. Do any other work-related tasks to achieve production goals.
  • Associate must be able to support 24-hour, 7 day a week manufacturing operation, with the ability to work 12-hour shifts.
  • Associates are held accountable for production efficiencies, strict compliance with process specifications, and Company standards of behavior.
  • Comply with all applicable quality management system, environmental, safety and occupational health policies. (for example, ISO 13485, ISO14001 & OSHAS18001).

SECTION 2: DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Under supervision of Facilitator (Manager) and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate client, procedures and guidelines, this position:
  • Performs any other work of a related nature and performs other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Follow current compliance regulations and standards.
  • Works in accordance with ISO 14001 principles and environmental regulatory compliance requirements. Works in accordance with Ethicon environmental policies and procedures.
  • Must have good work habits (neatness, organizational skills, time management skills, etc.).
  • Assist in Operator Deep Cleaning General Activities for CME and ASW on Daily, Weekly and Monthly basis.
  • Associates are held accountable for production efficiencies, strict compliance with process specifications, and Company standards of behavior.
  • Responsible for processing VICRYL?  and VICRYL PLUS? and possibly other products through the auto swaging and winding department.
  • Focusing on ensuring maximum OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) combing the factors of Performance, Quality and Availability, efficiency from machine production, ensuring maximum machine utilization, and ensuring minimum departmental non-productive time.
  • Daily, weekly, and/or monthly reporting of all department operations thru the DTT report
  • Comply with all environmental, safety and occupational health policies. (i.e., ISO14001 &    OSHAS18001)
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
  • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level

SECTION 3: EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION*

  • High School graduate, experience or training.
  • Attend required Safety & Environmental Training
  • Satisfactory completion of Compliance Wire assignments.

SECTION 4: REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS*

  • Satisfactory completion of Operator Certification (OPCERT) for product quality inspection and disposition.

Other Additional Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of one (1) year on-the-job experience as an Operator Level 1. Must have successfully completed the Operator Level 1 review, with confirmation of their ability to perform 100% of all tasks, skills, competencies and responsibilities of a Level 1 Operator. This includes attainment of minimum performance standards of a Level 1 Operator.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform 100% of all tasks, skills, competencies, and responsibilities of a Level 2 Operator.
  • Perform duties in a timely manner with little or no direction.
  • Demonstrate the ability to set up equipment to specifications.
  • Provide directions and training to other lower level BC operators.
  • Ability to perform difficult work when only general to limited instructions are available.
  • Must understand & comprehend the following but not limited to:
  • English language
  • Process specifications
  • Computer functions as required
  • Measure of actual productivity vs. the optimum ability of the machine. Considering machine capacity, rejects, downtime and production rates
  • Targeting any one of these three key areas for improvement, Availability, Performance or Quality
  • Follow all aspects of 6S
  • Continued waste reduction improvements for BC
  • Read, interrupt and follow work instructions and training materials.
  • Individual must be a self-starter having demonstrated creativity, assertiveness, and leadership.
  • Proven ability to independently recognize and solve problems.
  • Pass and maintain training and certification examinations as required.
  • Assess and input data into shop floor systems.
  • Accurate record keeping via computer management systems by in putting and retrieving data for production and maintenance.
  • Charting, and interpreting SPC information and operational data.

Strong Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to work and communicate well with others
  • Ability to give and understand instructions, both verbal and written.
  • Must be willing to work as a member of a team.
  • Must be willing to accept change and additional responsibilities and training associated with change.

Material Handling:

  • Pick up full carts/pallets from Non-CFC and transports product to the BC area.  Requires continuous handling of both empty and full magazines.
  • Transfer of empty carts to foil area.
