SourceAbled is seeking candidates for a Direct Hire role as a Technical Associate, GMP Pilot Plant  with our client Pfizer, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. Seeking candidates in St. Louis - Chesterfield MO or willing to relocate.

What You Will Achieve

The GMP Pilot Plant Technical Associate will be part of a diverse team of technicians and scientists/engineers focused on the delivery of exploratory clinical study supplies.  The Technical Associate will support operations (both upstream and downstream unit operations) by ensuring equipment is properly maintained and supplies are available as needed.  The technician will be responsible for the overall cleanliness and organization as well.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Set up, execution and evaluation of GMP manufacturing unit operations such as seed train, fermenters, centrifugation, filtration, chromatography, UF/DF, conjugation and lyophilization.

  • Execute CIP, SIP, aseptic sampling, parts washing, documentation, and data entry/evaluation.

  • Manage own time and professional development, be accountable for own results and begin to prioritize own workflow.

  • Implement {Current} Good Manufacturing Practices {part of GxP} procedures and safe handling techniques.

  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and work under minimal supervision.

  • Generate, assist and execute documentation associated with unit operations, such as electronic batch records and logbooks.

  • Actively participate in shift exchange activities and communication channels.

  • Complete training to take part in safety inspections within the facility.

  • Understand and comply with the policies, procedures and working practices of Environment, Health & Safety and where necessary contribute to the review and implementation of the practices in the plant. 

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • High School Diploma or GED, with basic science courses
  • 0-2 years of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment
  • Operational knowledge of computerized systems
  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment
  • Demonstrated capability to work as a team member in a matrix development team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office required, especially MS Word, MS Excel 

Nice-to-Have

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
  • Demonstrated experience in a biotechnology manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of fermentation and or downstream processing techniques
  • Mechanical aptitude and desire to execute hands-on manual labor  

 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift 40 lbs and work for extended periods of time standing and walking.

The salary for this position ranges from $22.89 to $38.16 per hour. In addition, this position offers eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday and other pay premiums depending on the work schedule and the Company’s policies.
