The R2R Senior Accountant will have responsibility for accounting, reporting and analysis for US, Canada, Puerto Rico with a focus on specific enabling functions- including but not limited to- Aviation, Corp Audit, Executive, Insurance, Procurement, among others. Additionally, Role will also complete key deliverables for Open PO Accruals for Enabling Functions, KL Landfill, and Blue Whale.

The R2R Senior Accountant will have responsibility for accounting, reporting and analysis of various balance sheet accounts which may include- Goodwill, Intangibles, Equity, and Step Plans. Additionally, role will assist in pushdown entries related to acquisitions and other transformations; Corporate P-Card Reconciliations; and identifying areas opportunities for innovation or better process documentation.

Collaborate with multi-departmental stakeholders throughout Pfizer including the Controllers; Treasury; other GBS teams.

Role Responsibilities

  • Maintain records, supporting files/documentation, complete/accurate work instructions, and necessary compliance documentation in an organized manner.

  • Effectively communicate to peers and management with regards to work tasks and deadlines and identify issues proactively and communicate to manager along with potential range of solutions.

  • Ensure activities are performed to a high standard of operational excellence, established service level agreements and deadlines are met, and adhere to defined process/control requirements.

  • Engage directly with select business partners on routine activities and deliverables; develop relationships.

  • Develop technical and business skills, ensuring effective and efficient use of time and competencies.

  • Ensure strong commitment to the control environment through training and review to meet all control and compliance requirements.

  • Participate in global initiatives including transformational projects as needed.

  • Understand the functionality, interfaces and interdependencies of Pfizer’s financial processes and systems.

  • Focus on continuous improvement in order to improve efficiencies and grow value add opportunities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance discipline required.

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required.

  • Practical experience of US GAAP and Statutory Accounting/Experience of other GAAPs required.

  • International experience seen as a plus.

  • English proficiency required.

  • CPA eligibility required.

?Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters or advanced degree is preferred.

  • Public accounting experience strongly preferred.

  • Advanced SAP & HFM experience strongly preferred.

  • CPA or international equivalent (ACCA) preferred.

  • Candidate should expect average travel to other locations depending on project activities and related requirements to support activities, including business meetings and workshops.
