 Job Description

The ESSC Associate / Solution Engineer reports to the Digital Solutions Team Lead and will be responsible for the following functions:

  • Technical/Digital supporting the solution for procurement of direct materials, including the Supply Chain Collaboration (SCC)

  • Learn and gain expertise in Pfizer’s global model template focusing on SAP solution governing procurement of Raw and Packaging materials for the manufacturing plant, as well as procurement of API, bulk and finished goods from contract manufacturers (CMO)

  • Learn Pfizer’s Business Processes relevant to ES&SC solution areas

  • Engage business user groups to ensure efficient use of the software set

  • Contribute to the completion of projects, manage own time to meet agreed targets

  • Develop plans for work activities on own projects within a team


The ideal candidate must bring technical capabilities, an understanding of Agile methodologies, a strong desire to learn & implement new digital technologies and solutions, as well as a keen interest in direct procurement business processes. Key activities include:

  • Support world class External Supply & Supplier Collaboration solutions to Pfizer

  • Develop technical specification and estimations for assigned projects

  • Conduct business requirements gathering meetings and workshops in an efficient and productive manner and documents minutes, notes and requirements concisely

  • Collaborate and partner closely with global Digital teams and business teams to deliver solutions on time and within budget.

  • Manage the design, configuration, development, testing and implementation of projects

  • Coordinate activities with cross-functional teams located in diverse geographical locations, including the engagement of key business stakeholders

  • Develop strong relationships at all levels and with different cultural backgrounds

  • Provide technical and functional guidance to key stakeholders

  • Ensure compliance to GMP, deployment standards and quality guidelines with regulatory related obligations are executed with the highest standards of compliance

  • Assist production support team to fix problems in a timely manner


  • Applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree; OR Associate's degree with four years of relevant experience; OR six years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to enable interactions at various levels in the organization

  • Facilitation and presentation skills

  • Ability to work in ambiguous situations

  • Demonstrated skills in analysis and problem solving

  • Experience using standard requirements business analysis techniques, including brainstorming, interviewing, requirements sessions, activity diagrams and use cases desired

  • Able to work on cross-functional teams and independently

  • communicate with project stakeholders and senior business leadership.

  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycles using agile principles

  • Quick learner. Demonstrate initiative and ownership

  • Ability to operate in a global multi-cultural environment of time zones and requirements

  • Business process acumen understanding of GMP requirements


  • Experience in SAP DP, SCC

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a technology position(s)

  • Experienced working with global applications



  • Occasional additional hours in the evening or weekends as necessitated by workload, project timelines, or meetings with global vendors and peers.

  • Limited International travel up to 10%.

  • Work Location Assignment - Hybrid: Hybrid colleagues must be able to work in Pfizer Tampa office 2-3 days per week, or as needed by the business to connect and innovate with their team face-to-face. However, they also benefit from being able to work offsite regularly when it makes business sense to do so.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $58,100.00 to $96,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
