Individual Markets Content Specialist

As an Individual Markets Content Specialist, you will develop and curate content that highlights the importance of financial literacy and planning, celebrates the impact financial planning professionals have in their local communities, and advances storytelling to illustrate the impact of Guardian products and services on individual consumers, families, and small businesses. 


You will

  • Support the development of the next generation of Guardian’s award-winning Living Confidently® website. This includes updating content for relevancy, data, and experiential impact.
  • Architect multi-platform campaigns for financial professionals to use in building new and nurturing existing relationships with clients. Collaborate with partners in developing content for target segments.
  • Help develop and drive structured campaigns to drive adoption among financial representatives.
  • Help source, curate and promote stories around ‘moments that matter’ illustrating how we fulfill our purpose.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders within Individual Markets Marketing, along with strategic partners in Corporate Marketing, Corporate Communications, and Agency Distribution.
  • Support measurement of results and make data driven recommendations to optimize outcomes.


Reporting Relationships

As our Individual Markets Content Specialist, you will report to our Head of Individual Markets Content Marketing, who reports to our Head of Marketing, Individual Markets.






You are

An experienced writer with strong interview, reporting, writing, and editing skills. You are a natural storyteller with a balanced approach to crafting strong narratives and conveying emotional nuances. You want to join a company whose culture is anchored in core values of: “People Count,” “We Do the Right Thing,” and “We Hold Ourselves to Very High Standards.” You are comfortable engaging with stakeholders across all levels, both internally and within sales distribution channels, to help develop marketing plans that have clear, measurable outcomes.  


You have

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 5-7 years of experience in digital marketing within financial services
  • Strong knowledge of the life and disability insurance, retirement, and wealth management industry to inform the selection of consumer facing content
  • Understanding of entrepreneurial distribution/sales channels
  • Experience drafting and designing marketing plans and materials based on target audience
  • Exceptional writing skills that are employed in developing marketing messages that prompt engagement
  • The ability to help develop and execute a marketing strategy, create the supporting marketing assets and launch the campaign.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience leading multiple, highly visible projects simultaneously
  • Attention to detail that ensures overall success
  • Ability to adapt to changes in fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Openness to change and new ways of working, including the ability to execute new strategies and tactics to drive results


Location & Vaccination Requirements  

  • The primary location for this position is work from home.
  • Covid – 19 vaccinations required for this position.  

Any offer of employment will be contingent upon the candidate’s affirmation of being Full Vaccinated prior to commencing employment in the new role.  New hires will have five business days from their start date to provide proof of vaccination through our Vaccination Status Confirmation Form.  “Fully Vaccinated” means that at least two weeks have elapsed since you received the recommended number of doses of any COVID-19 vaccine that is currently fully approved, or authorized for emergency use, by the Food and Drug Administration or that have been listed for emergency use by the World Health Organization.
